The car park at the surgery historically has been badly designed, leaving only 3 spare car parking spaces once designated disabled and staff parking have been taken into account. Although only a small number of spaces, this has been a luxury as other local surgeries do not facilitate any patient parking.
Therefore from 1st April it has been the decision of the surgery to utilise these 3 spaces for GPs and ancillary practice staff.
The disabled bay will stay and we are more than happy for elderly and infirm patients to be dropped off at the surgery and wait in the waiting room to be collected. As well as for those patients just “popping in” to collect prescriptions etc, there is parking along the road.
The nearest car park is less than 10 minutes walk through the castle grounds and allows 30 minutes free car parking before having to pay.
We wanted to give our patients plenty of notice in advance so they could start allowing enough time prior to attending their appointments.
