URGENT PROBLEM DIAL 111 (CALLS ARE FREE)

When to use this service?

When the problem is not a 999 emergency but you need medical help FAST:-

you think you need to go to A&E but are unsure

you don't know who to call or you don't have a GP to call

you need health information or reassurance about what to do next

What will happen?

A fully trained adviser will ask you some questions to assess your symptoms. They will then give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you straightaway to the local service that can help you best. That could be A&E, a walk-in centre, a community nurse, an emergency dentist or a chemist.

Alternatively, they may transfer you directly to either an experienced nurse or a paramedic for telephone advice or they may book you an appointment with an out-of-hours GP at one of the local hospitals.

If the adviser thinks you need an ambulance, they will immediately arrange for one to be sent to you
